He uses a secret passage behind one of the large paintings to find out if there is anything they can do to rid of Tagin, he also assures Indria that if she wants to do something, he will help her. He leaves after Indria tells him she doesn't believe there is a way to stop him. However, Indria later uses the knowledge that Arfon told her about the Guild spring piping water to the King's room to poison Tagin's water.
