Dakon is a kind and fair man, who enjoys the country life, over the city. His Ley neighbour, Lord Narvelan, prompted him to join the Circle of Friends, a group looking out for the welfare of the country Leys. Dakon cares a lot about his people, and is willing to help them as best as he can.
Dakon's housemaster is Keron, and two of his six main servants are Cannia and Malia. Malia travels with Dakon to Imardin within The Magician's Apprentice for the first time as Cannia believes herself to be too old to do this trip.

Once Tessia learns she has magic, Dakon has no choice but to teach her, as she is a natural. During Takado's stay with Dakon, he nearly kills his source slave and leaves him behind with Dakon. He says Dakon can do with him what he likes. Dakon is observant to the actions of his apprentices, and notices Jayan's hostility towards Tessia. He deals with it fairly, and encourages him to work out his differences. They travel to Imardin staying with friends along the way, and help out a local urgent problem with a broken bridge. During his time in Imardin, Dakon gains a personal audience with King Errik about the worry of the safety of the country Leys. He is reassured that the King is on their side, and asks his close friend Lord Werrin to accompany Dakon back to Mandryn. However, Takado changes the plans as he attacks Mandryn, and they, along with Jayan and Tessia, hurry to the Ley. Dakon loses his Ley with the complete destruction of Mandryn, as the majority of the locals die, or those who survive flee. He, along with the group that has followed, head to the nearby Loran Ley to assist Narvelan. Dakon becomes part of the Kyralian army and follow the Sachakan invaders. Despite the circumstances, both of his apprentices regard him very highly. Dakon shows a deep remorse for killing, and is against the Kyralians killing the Sachakan slaves to gain power. He starts to drift away from Narvelan, who he called his close friend, as he develops a hunger for control and authority. When it comes to Takado's punishment of death, sentenced by King Vochira, Dakon accepts and completes the task. After the start of the Kyralian rule of Sachaka by Narvelan, Dakon decides to stay to help. He passes Tessia's education to Lady Avaria, as he thought that Sachaka was to dangerous for her. Some time later, Dakon is found dead, with his body found drained of magic. |
