Evar is a Traitor who lives in the men's room of Sanctuary, as he is not married. Evar has a lot of magical ability as he is a natural, but as he is a man, he was not trained extensively and can only perform minor magical tasks. Evar works in the stone maker's caves as a assistant to the Traitors making the stones, he provides the makers with food, heat and extra magic.

Evar befriends Lorkin who also stays in the men's room. He takes him to see the Stone maker's caves, despite it being risky. Evar manages to get drained of his power by bedding a Traitor woman who performs Lover's Death on him.
