|Book Origin||The Magician's Apprentice|
Hanara is a Sachakan source slave. His master is Takado, a cruel but intelligent Sachakan man. When Takado had discovered Hanara's strong latent ability, he made sure Hanara sired plenty of children, so he could use them as source slaves as well.
|Spoilers from "The Magician's Apprentice"|
After a while Takado returns for him and Hanara runs back to him, scared of what Takado would do if he didn't. Hanara returns as his source slave, now sharing the position with a new slave Jochara. He stays with Takado until the end of the war where he is captured and taken to Sachaka. During the war, Hanara feels the 'life-long feeling' that slaves feel once they have served their master the best they can. It is shattered when he speaks with Emporer Vochira about how foolish Takado acted.
